It takes about 20-25 minutes to walk from Pratt to Nostrand Ave. Despite the short distance,

I noticed how most green areas were NOT accessible and blocked off to the public.

I wanted to listen to what locals had to say about their parks. We were able to extract a handful of thoughtful insights from residents.

New York City is well known for having great parks[central parks], 

personalized/communal gardens[grow nyc], and green amenities 

for its residents, however, the data indicates a stark contrast between 

the well-maintained and expansive greenery in affluent neighborhoods 

and the gated, small, underdeveloped neighborhoods in low-income 

areas. This contrast, which shows a clear distinction not only highlights

the disparities based on income butalso forms the basis of this project.

I think parks in wealthier neighborhoods have less cracks in asphalts, are better maintained, and have the trash taken out more often.

I'm 30 years old, and it's the dirtiest I have seen in my life. The wealthier, the likelier the neighbors get prettier and well maintained green spaces

The neglect, there is trash all over the fields. The grass is all dead, gone rather... There is a huge lack of green spaces and that upsets me.
